Guaita Tower Fortress in San Marino

Tower is the oldest and most iconic of San Marino’s three fortress crowns, guarding the tiny republic since the 11th century. Its stone walls and battlements seem to grow right out of the mountain’s cliffside, offering sweeping views that once helped defenders spot approaching armies.
